The Grenfell Enhanced Health Checks are available each year and include an initial in person appointment to undertake a range of checks and tests that will be provided by a health care professional including:

Breathing Check

  • We will measure your blood oxygen levels
  • We will talk to you about your breathing and any concerns you may have
  • Referral to further checks if needed

Mental Health & Wellbeing Check

  • Mental health and wellbeing discussion including screening on anxiety and depression
  • Sleep review
  • Alcohol use, and substance use review
  • Referral to specialist and wellbeing services if needed

Physical Health Check

  • Weight, BMI, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Physical activity and diet reviews

Blood Tests

  • A blood test will be requested if it is needed to rule out conditions such as diabetes, and high cholesterol, or do test your thyroid function and renal function

Following the tests an appointment will be arranged with a GP to discuss the results and any other concerns you may have about your health and wellbeing.

Child Enhanced Health Check

For Children, this appointment will include the following with a healthcare professional:

  • Respiratory symptom check
  • A discussion with a guardian or the child if appropriate about their wellbeing and any concerns they may have
  • A discussion about physical activity, diet, and dental hygiene
  • Sleep review
  • Support accessing health promotion resources and activities

We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity for a Grenfell Enhanced Health Check. Having an annual check-up helps spot early signs of health problems or any underlying health conditions.
